In 1997 Rob Smolders wrote an introduction to the works of Dirk Oudes for the museum bulletin (no. 6/June 1997) of Museum De Wieger, Deurne. That same text was printed in the booklet "Dirk Oudes 1895-1969", an edition of Galerie Bonnard, Nuenen, Art Shop Jan Kuindersma at Dirkshoorn, and Art Shop and Gallery Hofsteenge, Groningen, 13 colour prints, 20 pp.
In 2002 Museum De Wieger, Deurne, in cooperation with Uitgeverij Van Spijk at Venlo, published "Dirk Oudes, traced out on the basis of his sketchbooks". Text (Dutch/English) by Rob Smolders. 37 colour prints, 40 black-and-white. 80 pp. This book is still for sale at € 18 plus mailing costs.

In 1986 a catalogue was published devoted to the drawings by Jaap Oudes, illustrated with 8 works in colour and 9 in black-and-white, and one drawing of Dirk Oudes in black-and-white. Edition Gemeentemuseum Helmond, Museum De Zalm, Mechelen, and the Westfries Museum, Hoorn. 32pp.
This booklet is still for sale at € 12,20 included are mailing costs.
